Made in the style of, and with materials accurate to, the very early 1950's Nocaster pickups, but with increased turns on both coils for a more aggressive, pronounced, powerful voice which still retains all the open airy top end and articulation of vintage pickups.
Lacquer sealed paper tape replaces the black wax potted string wrapped around the bridge pickup to allow for more turns of AWG 42 plain enamel copper wire while still fitting in, and being protected from, a standard Tele bridgeplate.
A pure nickel silver (no copper flashing/plating) cover replaces the traditional plated brass cover to allow for a brighter, detailed, more transparent neck pickup, despite the additional turns of wire. The photos of this particular set show a custom open-center neck pickup cover, exposing the magnetic pole pieces. This is a custom visual feature, available if desired. The standard covers for ReWind's NoBlaster set are solid and have a polished nickel look, as expected on a vintage Tele.
Both pickups are lacquer dipped, but not potted. This mechanically and electrically seals the coils and mechanical parts for quiet playability in any situation without darkening the sound. This prevents the muddy, dampened, uninspiring sound that can occur with overwound pickups or with Tele neck pickups, in general.
Both pickups in this set are wound in the same direction and use the same polarity orientation so the set is not noise canceling in the middle position. This allows the finish of each coil to be connected to ground and shield off noise in all positions. As with all true single coil pickups, some noise can still be present, depending on the electro-magnetic environment surrounding the guitar. Noise canceling in the middle position is optional, though not recommended.
